Listen "Episode 126: Why CrossFit Won't Prepare You for SFAS (&11 Other SFAS Prep Myths)"
Episode Synopsis
In today's episode, I discussed 12 common SFAS prep myths and why they tend to hold candidates back. The myths include:-Everyone should train the same-Everyone's prep should be (x) long-You should ruck w/ 65-70+# in training-You can prep for selection w/ minimal rucking-You can do mostly cross training (non running/rucking)-You can just do CrossFit-You need to do certain gym exercises-You need to have specific gym strength #s-You shouldn’t fuel some of your training sessions-You should mimic selection conditions (sleep deprivation, team week mimicking events, etc)-You need to do all your runs and rucks in uniform-You need to use a sledge hammer/rubber ducky to mimic a weaponThe internet is riddled with self-proclaimed exerts spewing unsupported info about selection prep. There are many issues with this, most notably the tendency to cause paralysis by analysis, which has the potential to moderately to significantly detract from your preparation.SFAS prep is simple. It requires consistent, hard training, but there's nothing complicated about it. This episode will dispel the BS and hopefully clear your mind from all that doesn't matter, allowing you to focus on the big rocks and acheive your goal of showing up as prepared as possible to crush selection.
