Listen "Navigating Holiday Grief - A Series."
Episode Synopsis
Today, we are kicking off a holiday series for grief. The goal behind is to provide tips and tricks on how people can best manage their grief during their holidays and not feel jealousy or animosity towards our family members and loved ones. This series will also provide resources so that you can help a friend you know who is grieving in the best way possible. This podcast showcase's Susan and Susan's daughter, Madison, on how they both managed their grief during the holidays. Key Takeaways: This is Madison's third year without her father. Halloween has just passed. A hard day for both Susan and Madison. Susan's home was filled with laughter and silliness. Susan's husband died six days before christmas. A lot of people came to check up on the family. Christmas the year after, the grief ended up setting in a lot harder because it was just Susan and the kids. Is it hard for Madison to see other people celebrating christmas with their dads and families? Susan received a letter from her friend a year later with a lot of kind words in it. It meant the world to Susan that someone was thinking about her. What advice does Madison have on how to support someone during the holidays? Do something nice for someone else. Talk to someone if you're feeling sad. Don't bottle it in! There is always something to be grateful for. Stay tuned for future episodes with our guests for this holiday season.
