I confess that one of the areas I have struggled with the most in my life is bearing with the failings of the weak. To admit that seems to require double repentance. First, I need to repent of my lack of empathy towards the weak. Second, I have wrongfully elevated myself to be better than those whom I consider the weak. Thankfully I offer to you a better pastor - the Lord Jesus Christ who is not proud but bears with all of us who are weak. Jesus did not please Himself but put us first and saved us. This Sunday we are going to unpack from Romans 15:1-7 how we are to treat those who seem to be weak and we will discover not only the pathway forward but the motivation for doing so.
