5. When I “mess up” and become irritable, impatient, or ungrateful this usually leads to feeling guilty and condemning myself. When I’m tempted to do this, I can remember: Romans 8:1-2 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”
 
6. Children are a gift because…

They are arrows in the hands of a warrior given by God. I have been given a tool/weapon to train up and use in this fight for God’s glory. (Psalm 127:3-5 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”)

Through the trials that come with raising a child, I am being sanctified and learning to die to self in ways that I would never have learned otherwise.

I have been given little messengers/mouthpieces who can pass on the stories of God’s faithfulness to the next generation (Psalm 78:4-7 “…tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments; and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God.”)

The lie: God is withholding something good from you (Genesis 3:4-5)
The truth: God, in love, gives you all things and withholds nothing that is good from you! (Romans 8:32, Psalm 84:11)
