Mariah grew up in rural Iowa. Byron in Central Ohio. They met in Iowa City Iowa where they flew together, Mariah as an RN, Byron as a helicopter pilot flying Air Medical rescue missions, and lifting people up and away from healthcare challenges.

After leaving Iowa City in 2003 they moved to the middle of the Pacific Ocean, to the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Byron flew helicopter tours around the island, and Mariah worked as a nurse, both once again elevating people who looked to them for their unique ability to raise others up.

It was on Kauai that they sensed the need for better, stronger connection to the spiritual and transcendent energy that surrounds us all, what the Hawaiian people refer to as mana, the spiritual life force. The idea behind Journey Well, You Are More Than Enough came to them on Kauai, as they felt the majestic power of the ocean, the rhythmic action of booming waves, the soothing serenity of the Hawaiian breeze, and the strangely affirming connection we all feel with the natural environment. It all elicited the idea for Journey Well, You Are More Than Enough, the transcendent feeling they found on that little island so far removed from the harsh messages heard and seen elsewhere.

They left Kauai in 2006 to care for Byron’s dying father, once again raising others up, this time seeing a parent lift off for the final time. From there, they left the US, moving first to Panama, then to Medellin Colombia where they lived for three wonderful years. Feeling their mandate to elevate once more, when the pandemic arrived in 2020 they left Colombia, moving back to Iowa to be with Mariah’s then 89-year-old mother.
Mariah and Byron believe the time is ripe for a renewal of higher purpose, elevated dialogue, focus on basic human values such as self-worth, dignity, integrity, honesty, and candor, but also a personal mandate to work toward a more civil society. Through their content and coaching in mindset change they believe everyone will come to realize that our thoughts create our world, and that the way we respond to each other comes with a great deal of responsibility. Everyone has unique value, and a gift they must share with all of us as we assemble this wonderful puzzle together. No one can be left behind, and once everyone is included they believe the better, brighter world we all know is waiting for us will be realized.
