Listen "UVCeed sanitizing device for smart phones"
Episode Synopsis
Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. UVCeed is the name of a gadget that attaches magnetically to the back of a smartphone…and uses the phones camera to help you sanitize a surface using an LED UV C light. Director of Research and Development Justin Beyers…says the app…using the camera in the phone…shows you where the light is treating a surface…and…
“As you’re treating it will give you a real time estimated reduction of any pathogens that may be on your keyboard or whatever you’re treating. And it will tell you that if you hold this spot for so many more seconds, you’ll get a 70 percent reduction and it tells you the different milestones…90 percent, 99 percent.”
Safety is built in…because the camera detects what the light is being pointed at. UVCeed was developed by surgeon-inventor Dr. Peter Bonutti.
