For most of us in the United States, it may be hard to fathom…but nearly 60 percent of the world’s population…about five billion people…wash their clothes by hand. The Washing Machine Project is trying to change that…with backing from the Whirlpool Foundation. They are building and providing hand operated Divya Washing Machines to those people and communities. Founder Navjot Sawhney.an aerospace engineer by training…tell us..
