Listen "T-Mobile's planned purchase of Mint could be a plus for customers"
Episode Synopsis
Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. We tend to like competition, but in the case of the planned acquisition of Mint Mobile by T-Mobile for 1.35 billion dollars, the news may be positive. In announcing the deal…in a video skit with Mint’s actor-owner Ryan Reynolds…T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert said customers will still continue on with plans starting for as low as 15 dollars a month…
“Well Ryan, we are so happy to have you and the whole Mint team join the T-Mobile family.” “Ha. Well I wouldn’t call it a family, Mike. No, family is a place for misdirected hopes and dreams. I’m hoping this will be much better than that.”
The plan is for Reynolds to stay on in his creative capacity for Mint. And with the acquisition his hope is the low priced operator…which has been using T-Mobile’s network all along…will be able to serve many more customers.
