Listen "A spectacular new anniversary image from Webb Space Telescope"
Episode Synopsis
Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. NASA has marked the one year anniversary of the first images sent by the James Webb Space Telescope with the release of a remarkable new image. At Princeton University, Professor Bob Vanderbei says…
“It’s beautiful and it’s interesting. I downloaded the 135 megabyte full file to look at it. When you look at it, it’s 12 thousand by 12 thousand pixels.”
And NASA astrophysicist Taylor Hutchison says what the Webb Telescope is allowing us to see…so far back in time…has surprised even those working on the project..
“It really is kind of mind blowing how amazing this observatory is. We already knew it was a feat of engineering but it really is kind of continuing to be very much worth all of the effort that went into it.”
You can see for yourself…at jwst.nasa.gov. And it is just getting started.
