Did you know that we blind people can be parents? Sounds silly, we're aware. However, there are so many misconceptions when it comes to people who are blind, and parents. Sadly, a lot of those are bad misconceptions. On this series, starting with Episode 13, I, Jose, speak to Sonia Herrera, who is a blind parent herself, married with two children. On this first part, she tells us how she felt when she heard the news that she'd be a mom for the first time, along with some stories of how people frowned upon her having children. Thanks to the Facebook group, "Blind Pen Pals" for allowing me to post the idea, and thanks to Sonia for allowing me to interview her.
