After finding an online video about airplanes when he was younger, it did not take long for Dev K. Patel to realize what his path forward was. Currently a flight instructor at Averett University, Dev speaks about the process he is going through to become a commercial pilot, and informs viewers why this is the best time to become a pilot.


Brandon K. Hedgepeth is a podcaster and graduate student majoring in lifespan and digital communication. He has been curating online content since May 2016.


Dev K. Patel is a graduate of Averett University, majored in Aviation Management with a Concentration in Flight Operations, and Aviation Management with a Concentration in Aviation Business. Dev has volunteered in several STEM-related National Activities, for which he has been awarded the Presidential Coin for Community Involvement. He is a qualified Certified Flight Instrument Instructor, and a Commercial Pilot (AMEL) (Instrument) with extensive experience in Cessna 172, Piper Archer, and Beechcraft Duchess models. Senior Cadet Instructor for PSA Airlines, a wholly owned regional for American Airlines. He will be starting ATP/CTP in December 2023. Being in the aviation industry, he has an exceptional eye for detail and a comprehensive understanding of flight safety and operational standards.
