Nebraska Congressional District 1 Candidate Patty Pansing Brooks joins the Swing Left Nebraska Podcast AGAIN to discuss the incredible success of her campaign in the special election on June 28th and her strong path forward to victory in the Midterms on November 8th.
Jeff Fortenberry previously held this seat, but he officially resigned on March 31st due to his conviction for three federal felonies for lying to the FBI about illegal campaign donations. As a result, GOP Senator Mike Flood of Norfolk faced Patty for a special election to seat the remainder of Jeff Fortenberry's term until January of this year.
Patty only lost to Flood by a 53% to 47% margin. In other words, she crushed it! This was the closest election for a democratic candidate in this district since 1974.  The voters are ready for a candidate who leads with compassion, is a champion for reproductive / LGBTQIA + rights, and will fight fiercely to build a system that works for everyone.  This! Seat! Is! Flippable!
