This month on ALT CAST, we are very excited to have a one hour exclusive mix from Detroit native and Brooklyn based artist: Arvin T. More about the artist below:

Arvin T is a Midwest born, Brooklyn based DJ. Raised in a musical household in the 80's and 90's, his older sisters and parents would play anything from disco, synth wave, industrial, to Persian pop music, and hip hop, the list is endless. His first foray into live music was his freshman year in college, when he and friends would attend pre-parties for Detroit Electronic Music Festival. After some time, he explored the house and techno scenes between Detroit and Chicago.

His move after college to Chicago exposed him to an entirely new area of music. Attending many club nights, he learned from Chicago house, to high energy, or even more melodic sounds and trance. He was making playlists and finding new music that he loved, adding to his musical palette.

Arvin’s sets can range from nu-italo and EBM, to hard trance and techno. His style started to form as he began to notice that the music he gravitated towards would have a signature '80s sound, but with a future and present twist. Influenced by the fresh sounds coming from Toulouse, Amsterdam, and Berlin, he curates his sets to be driving and relentless, while leading his audience through the entire spectrum of emotions.

Arvin T is currently a monthly resident at Hart Bar in Brooklyn, where he hosts his Harekat parties that invite local artists to come display their talent. The parties range from industrial techno and minimal, to house and italo. He has played in the New York City, Chicago, Miami, and Tampa areas.
