In this episode Elizabeth and Anna M. have a conversation with sports dietitian, Leslie Schilling, about food and nutrition for kids & teen athletes, and the role of coaches. We discuss: How parents or caregiver can talk to coaches if they have concerns about nutrition messaging and advice How to identify the kind of advice that is appropriate for a sports coach to give regarding food & fueling Ways to manage body/weight concerns with sports that either have weight-based requirements (e.g. rowing, wrestling and weight lifting) or sports where leanness is praised or favored (e.g. gymnastics, running, dance).
