Israel remembers the cost of her calling this week on the 9th day of the Jewish calendar month of Av, the date of many of her most traumatic events in history. Israel was given three assignments by God: 1. to bring the world His Word, 2. to bring the world the Messiah and His sacrifice and 3. to bring the world the reign of Messiah. For each of these callings, the Jewish People have paid, and continue to pay, dearly.
