As we open up our bibles to Acts chapter 3 thismorning by way of introduction if you have not beenwith us Luke is giving us his account of what Jesuscontinues to do by the power of the Holy Spirit in thelives of the apostles as they go about fulfilling thegreat commission to make disciples of all nations.The disciples are in Jerusalem, Jesus has justascended to the Father, and the Holy Spirit hasbeen poured out on the day of Pentecost and allbegan to speak in tongues and everyone heardthem praising God and giving thanks in their ownlanguage and were astonished by what they sawand heard.Peter took full advantage of the moment andexplained that all of this is the fulfillment of God’sWord – that God would pour His Holy Spirit out uponall mankind just as He promised.
