Sadly we often view the tragedies and hardships of life as something that happens somewhere else or to someone else. As long as we’re comfortable, we tend to close our eyes, our ears as well as our hearts and don’t give much thought to the hurt and pain around us until it hits home. What would it mean for us to listen to the cries of others, to walk among the “tombs of life” where people are hurting in order to bring healing and peace? Or maybe… we’re the ones who are hurting. This week we’ll be looking at the Gerasene Demoniac from Luke’s Gospel. It’s a story packed with meaning, invitations as well as challenges.
