Episode Synopsis

Aloha Tide Riders and Welcome back to Part 2 of our Brief History of UFOs saga, the Golden Age of Ufology. In this episode of Strange Tides, we lift off into the dazzling dawn of modern UFO lore—the Golden Age of Ufology, a stretch of time from 1947 to 1969 when reports of flying saucers, strange beings, and sky-high anomalies surged into public consciousness like never before. This was the era that shaped the way we still talk about UFOs today. We kick things off with the Roswell crash, the spark that ignited decades of speculation about downed alien craft and mysterious debris. From there, we revisit Kenneth Arnold’s iconic sighting of crescent-shaped objects speeding past Mount Rainier, the moment that launched the phrase “flying saucer” into pop culture. We’ll also cover the Washington D.C. UFO flap of 1952, when glowing objects buzzed restricted airspace and made headlines across the world. This was also the time of early contactee stories, with figures like George Adamski claiming face-to-face meetings with beings from Venus, and the harrowing abduction account of Betty and Barney Hill, which would set the tone for decades of alien encounter narratives. We’ll also check out the Levelland sightings, where glowing craft interacted with vehicles, and the Westall UFO incident in Australia, where dozens of schoolchildren witnessed a daylight disc hovering near their playground. And in with all of these famous sightings, we'll cover some of the lesser known events that made a major mark on the world of Ufology. The Golden Age wasn’t just a string of sightings—it was a cosmic shift. Something was happening in the skies, and people across the globe were watching. Whether these events were the work of visitors from beyond or something stranger still, one thing’s for sure: these were the years that transformed UFOs from myth to mystery. Tune in and ride the wave through the era that changed everything. There's a ton of good cases.Links:https://www.oregonlive.com/resizer/9apaujdbJjD4Ylni57mP1mRZDPk=/1280x0/smart/advancelocal-adapter-image-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/image.oregonlive.com/home/olive-media/width2048/img/history/photo/2017/10/12/ax025-3e1c-9jpg-ef215bdd2aea29d9.jpghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T98JPvGWNw8https://theufodatabase.com/media/photos/gallery/ufo-trindade-island-brazil-1958.jpghttps://pixabay.com/music/american-roots-rock-british-invasion-master-track-194196/https://pixabay.com/users/billy_ziogas-42400753/https://thespaceagency.bandcamp.com/a…https://pixabay.com/users/abydos_music-27178115/?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=music&utm_content=204632https://pixabay.com//?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=music&utm_content=204632https://www.version-karaoke.fr/playba…https://pixabay.com/music/rock-call-the-police-18554/https://pixabay.com/users/gvidon-25326719/
