We talk to Steven McDonald - Bass Player for the bands Redd Kross, OFF! and The Melvins. At just 11 years old, Steven and his older brother Jeff began their journey into the Los Angeles music scene, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Black Flag and the whole LA Hardcore fraternity seeing and experiencing things as teenager that most of us would never get the chance to witness. It was their love of all styles of music and rock and roll history which would create the Redd Kross sound and look, that to this day commands much respect amongst both fans and bands alike. Steven shares wild stories of their first introductions to the Sunset Strip, the very first Redd Kross shows, having instruments stolen and being the first person to play bass for The White Stripes - kind of!
