Our second episode of Stories from the Scene is a conversation between Music Victoria’s previous marketing manager, Francesca Chong and Mindy Meng Wang.
Mindy is an acclaimed Chinese/Australian composer and guzheng player. She’s performed and collaborated with a diverse range of artists and events from Regurgitator to Australian Art Orchestra, heavy metal artist Striborg, electronic musician Joelistics, plus Tim Shiel who she released an EP with in 2020 under the record label Music In Exile. Mindy has also played in a tonne of festivals across Australia, Europe and Shanghai, including a Premiere’s Gala Dinner, Sydney Festival and the Shanghai Festival.
