Missy wears many hats—teacher, advisor, coach, and mentor—and her contributions to Career and Technical Education (CTE) have set her apart as the 2024 Illinois Business Educator of the Year.Over her 17 years at Herrin High School, Missy has helped shape the futures of countless students through her innovative teaching in computer education, leadership in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and her dedication to extracurriculars like eSports and girls’ golf. Today, she shares insights into how CTE opens doors for students, the unique challenges and rewards of her many roles, and the evolving role of technology in education.
