In this special panel discussion episode of Stirring the Pot, we talk with Bob Shaw who is the President of the Steel Structures Technology Centre – or SSTC for short.The Steel Structures Technology Centre focuses on technical education and services related to the design, fabrication, erection and inspection of steel-framed structures. The firm provides consulting services in steel construction practices and quality. Founded in 1990, SSTC has provided training and support to thousands of engineers, fabricators, erectors, inspectors, building officials and others involved in steel buildings, steel bridges and steel construction. Bob is also Chair of the Commission XVII on Quality Management at the International Institute of Welding. Commission XVIII maintains the goal to identify, create, develop and transfer global best practices in the field of quality management for welding and allied processes.Today’s episode Bob and the panel dives into the details of the upcoming structural bolting e -course where Bob will unpack not only existing standards, but also introduce new and innovative methods to save time, reduce cost, and improve the efficiency and quality of bolted connections.
