Episode Synopsis
“Everything that happens, every feeling, every emotion, every thought, it’s all an important part of our learning process in our growth as souls, in the expanding of our beings, because everything is lessons. That’s literally all there is.”
This advice was given to me at a point where I was trying to hold on to a past experience of being in connection with my heart. I was desperately trying to re-discover what I thought I’d lost.
I’m not sure I buy in 100% to lessons being the only thing that exist, but I’m sure there is a lesson to be found in everything. I don’t mean a lesson of the kind your grandma would give you as a piece of advice to living but rather a lesson about who you are, what you want, what needs to change to “grow as a soul”.
To learn from those lessons we need to be present with what is actually happening and be willing to see our own part in it. Instead of pushing against discomfort, accept it and investigate it. Have I seen this pattern before? How did I handle it back then? Did I move on or just escape? What am I supposed to learn from this?
Practising staying present with our current experience and accept whatever comes is what we’re practising in todays meditation.
