Listen "STEAMBOAT SOUND CHECK | Jubilingo"
Episode Synopsis
As part of our ongoing Steamboat Sound Check series highlighting bands performing at Schmiggity’s, we sat down with Jubilingo ahead of their upcoming show on Saturday, March 1st. The Denver-based band—featuring Jessica Holloway on vocals and organ, Keith Hicks on guitar and vocals, Matt Rossmann on bass and trumpet, and Jake Herman on drums—brings a dynamic fusion of southern soul, rock, and funk that keeps audiences dancing all night long.
During our interview, we explored the band’s journey, musical evolution, and the unique elements each member brings to the table, including special guest Czekial who adds another layer to their already dynamic performance.
With over a decade of evolution, Jubilingo has built a strong following, releasing their self-titled debut album in 2020 and continuing to develop new music. The band announced that they are ready to release some of their new tunes to the live audience this weekend, and we got an inside scoop on how their latest material reflects their growth.
Jubilingo has played Schmiggity’s many times, with their most recent show in November. The band has often expressed their love for the venue, and they shared what makes it one of their favorite places to perform.
This show also coincides with a huge music weekend in Steamboat, as WinterWonderGrass is taking place. While Jubilingo isn’t officially part of the festival, the band sees this as a great opportunity to introduce themselves to new audiences looking to keep the good vibes going after the festival winds down. They spoke about whether this will influence their setlist or approach to the performance.
Don’t miss out on this incredible night of live music! Plus, attendees can enjoy a free well drink at the show by using the Steamboat Locals App. We’ll see you at Schmiggity’s this Saturday night—get ready to dance!
