KEY TAKEAWAYS
Your starting calories are set b your original weight, fat and muscle are metabolic and use energy. When you lose that body fat you’ll potentially lose muscle as well and your energy demands come down and you’ll need to cut your calorie intake as well, or move around more.
A lot of supplements are an expensive caffeine supplement, the additional ingredients in them – especially in the amounts added – don’t offer any beneficial fat loss help.
Any exercise will help because it’s burning calories, but you need to find something you enjoy doing and is sustainable rather than doing what you feel you need to. A mixture of strength training and cardio is ideal.
People are scared of eating a particular food or group of foods, not just takeaways and junk food but fruits and vegetables because they’ve been told they contain sugars. It’s my job to reverse that way of thinking.
The 80/20 rule: 80% of your overall diet should come from whole foods – things that have grown in the ground or were walking around, animal proteins, fruit and veg. The other 20% can be whatever you want. If your calorie amounts are correct you’ll get the fat loo ss results you’re looking for, you’ll maintain a healthy lifestyle and weight range for your height and you can have some flexibility on your diet as well.
There will be times where work or family takes over, or you completely mess up. It’s all part of the learning process, as long as you learn there are no mistakes and it will help you with consistency.
BEST MOMENTS
‘Your body isn’t working against you, it’s natural adaptations to do with the process.’
‘There are quick fixes if it’s the right thing to do. It’s unlikely to work long term though.’
‘I rarely see anyone out-train a bad diet.’
‘Fad diets will work if stuck to for a few weeks, but you’re not solving the problems that are causing you to be overweight.’
‘Everything in moderation.’

ABOUT THE HOST
Gavin Scott is a born entrepreneur with a passion for start up and scale up. He has over 20 years real estate experience in investment and development.
Gavin says: Over the years I have discovered that mindset is everything. Now, that might sound obvious, but it is! You see the number of awoken minds are very few in reality. Whilst acknowledging mindset is key it is absolutely different from utilising, influencing, impacting and effecting great change, for yourself, your loved ones, friends, colleagues and the wider public.
Why?
Like most of us I have had many ups and downs. I want to share the lessons learnt and promote a better environment for all, internally and externally!
How?
Through sharing my own experiences and hosting some fabulous individuals including some big household names to discuss key topics around mindset and the success formulas I hope the listener will become inspired to create space for change for betterment in their lives. I aim to inspire change by encouragement, not by force. I intend to inspire by education, not by regulation.
