With a new school year and the Big Beautiful Bill, we look at some funding options for families whether they homeschool, charter, or attend public schools. Then we look at the increase of sports gambling around the nation. Why in the last few years are we inundated with ads for team odds and the money to be had? For so long, teams, players and fans were concerned about the integrity of the games, but no more. Sports gambling has become a real challenge for family finances in all sorts of households, but now some are looking to bet on Little League. It’s unthinkable that adults should profit off a child’s learning teamwork and athletic skills, but somehow it’s not completely surprising. Then we look at the Illinois mandate to provide mental health evaluations in all schools; transgender violence, and the issue of the availability of the abortion pill in Texas.
