Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent: a time of penitence, fasting, and prayer, as Christians prepare for Easter, and the great joy of the resurrection. Today, Rob Collis preaches from Ecclesiastes 3.26-22, and reminds us that we are dust, and to dust we shall return.

In the Bible, ashes are used as a sign of sorrow and repentance. But as we are marked with the ashes in sign of the cross, we are reminded of the life we share in Jesus Christ, and it is in this sure hope that we begin our journey into Lent.
