What does our union with Christ, a life of dying and rising with him, mean for life as a church? The New Testament suggests that Jesus identifies himself in the most profound way with the church as a whole—so closely that he calls it his own body. If we are united to Christ by his Spirit through faith, then we are necessarily united to our sisters and brothers in the concrete community of the church.
