Episode Synopsis

In this episode, Cheryl and Mark Levy discuss: Freaking people out to stand out  Differentiating away from others  Relevancy tops anything else  Defining and writing down your backstory  Key Takeaways: If you want to stand out and be remembered, remember that subtlety does not work well. Like in a magic trick, you have to freak people out so that they'll talk about your show for days.  Differentiation does not occur in a vacuum. It's very unlikely for somebody to create something absolutely original. You'll always be differentiating away from something else that's on the same playing field.  Relevancy tops anything else. There's very little that one can say that could compete with what the audience is thinking. Understand what people are thinking at the moment so that you can speak to that.  Define your backstory - a story that shows that you were born to do what you do or that what you do means more to you than just a means of making money.   "The tricks needed to be both the show and the marketing for the show simultaneously, if no one was talking about a trick, it meant that it was not doing its job as a piece of marketing."  —  Mark Levy   Check out Simon Sinek's TEDx Talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4ZoJKF_VuA      Connect with Mark Levy: Website: https://www.levyinnovation.com/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/levyinnovation/    Get in Touch with Cheryl: Website: www.cherylknows.com  YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwvWKXBC6fKn1dLGY11hxIg Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dynamiteproductionsinc LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/cherylknowlton/   Show notes by Podcastologist: Justine Talla   Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions.
