Listen "Hope in the Lord Psalm 37:1-9"
Episode Synopsis
Send us a textFrom the Revised Common Lectionary offerings for this week we return to the Psalms, the mini-Bible, the songs and poetry of the Hebrew Bible. Today we look at Psalm 37, a Wisdom Psalm which seems to speak right into our time today with an age old question, "How do we affirm a Great and Holy God and live in the midst of a messy and often unjust world where wrongdoing seems to thrive"? Our temptation may be to meet evil with evil, anger with anger, fire with fire. But that doesn't solve anything. It only makes things worse. A better response is to Stop, breathe, pause, turn to God in prayer and discern how we can peaceably stand against injustice and make a difference. In this, we trust God implicitly and act in integrity out of our faith.
