Liz Johnson Artur is a Ghanaian-Russian photographer. Born in Bulgaria, raised in Germany and based in London. Liz photographs life as she sees it, from street level. Her loving take on Black life is a celebration of the everyday person when they put themselves together and step out; be that at church, carnival or in the club. Liz’s long career documenting Black life now forms part of her ever evolving Black Balloon archive.
