Specifically Scot became aware of Jordan's research by hearing her radio pieces on the NPR show Market Place with a show "Here's what the crescendo of the unemployment sounds like". Scot "I heard that while washing the dishes and had to reach out to Jordan and discuss the process of using sonification techniques in new radio journalism. She also has this great piece What sound does a volatile stock market make? that is very interesting. I had some technical problems with my side of the recording but Jordan was so fascinating it was worth salvaging the interview."
