Listen "Real Ranch Horses"
Episode Synopsis
After being in Montana at the Billing Livestock Sale, Scott has noticed a new trend rising in the sale rink; fat, shiny, "ranch horses" with long manes and tails. We've all been there, and probably longed for, the horse in the ring that is shiny as a diamond, slicked out even in the middle of winter, and plump and stout under saddle. Fact is, when you're going to a sale to purchase a horse to be used, those shiny horses probably haven't had to work like the ones that are missing part of their mane (caught in dallies roping or dragging one to the fire), have a shorter tail from getting pulled in the brush, or have a little extra hair on them because they stay working outside year-round. Scott looks for the diamonds in the rough, and has gotten pretty good at spotting them over the years. Enjoy today's episode and maybe change how you look for horses at your next sale.
