Listen "What Happens When We Drift?"
Episode Synopsis
In today’s episode, I want to start by holding space for all the Muslims around the world facing pain, hardship, and injustice, especially our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Pakistan, and beyond. It’s hard to carry on with life while their struggles often go unnoticed, but we remember them and pray for their strength and justice. Then, we dive into a deeply personal topic: feeling like you’re not a priority in the lives of people you care about. It’s not always about big fights or drama; sometimes it’s the little things, the silence, the one-sided effort, and the slow drift apart that hurt the most. I share my own experiences and thoughts on why some friendships fade, how to recognise when it’s time to let go, and why it’s okay to choose peace over chasing people who don’t value you.We also explore the beauty of friendships that withstand distance and time, the importance of genuine effort, and how true connection feels like home. Finally, I reflect on the spiritual side of friendship from an Islamic perspective—how the people we surround ourselves with shape who we are and how, sometimes, letting go is a form of mercy and protection for our hearts. If you’ve ever felt left out, unseen, or like you care more than they do, this episode is for you. Let’s talk about it with honesty, kindness, and hope.
