1 Thessalonians 5:14-22 NKJV
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all
things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.[i]

III. The effectiveness of prayer.
A. We can be confident in God granting our requests when we pray according to His will. (14,15)
John 9:31 NKJV
31 Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.[i]
Job 34:28 NKJV
28 So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to Him;
For He hears the cry of the afflicted.[ii]
Psalm 31:22 NKJV
22 For I said in my haste,
“I am cut off from before Your eyes”;
Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications
When I cried out to You.[iii]
Proverbs 15:29 NKJV
29 The Lord is far from the wicked,
But He hears the prayer of the righteous.[iv]
Luke 11:9,10 NKJV
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.[v]
