Listen "Making mindset matter: featuring Georgia Bodle (S2E5)"
Episode Synopsis
One of the lines you'll often hear directed at junior sportspeople by coaches and parents is this: “You’re getting in your own head…”It can mean many things in many instances of course … that a player is worrying about mistakes, or frustrated at their performance or flustered by a bigger, stronger or more advanced opponent. What it insinuates, though, is that the poor kid’s brain is some kinda hot mess… So in this episode we are going to do what we can to ‘tidy up the room’ so to speak. How can an organised mind allow young athletes perform better? To help us attempt this task, meet Georgia Bodle.Georgia is a New Zealander furthering her netballing ambitions here on the Gold Coast as a midcourter with (at the time of recording) the ladder topping Bond Bull Sharks Sapphire netball team. She’s a high-performance athlete, anoccupational therapist, and a mental health clinician. And she’s made organising sporting minds her work – her business is called Beyond Mindset. You can learn more about Georgia on LinkedIn and Instagram.
