Monthly episode focused on identity. This episode is about the restrictions others put on Christians and the choice to BE FREE. If you are a child of God, you are free. You have been washed by His blood and cleansed of your sins. There is no need to carry the heavy load of perfectionism, pride, or shame. The Pharisees shunned Jesus for not following the Old Testament and oral traditions. Jesus repeatedly responded in kind to their rules followed by showing mercy, and extending grace and forgiveness to others. Jesus knew and understood the rules (he is the Word), and his life and purpose was to be an example of the exceptions to the rule (in Word and Deed).
