When it comes to the manifestation of the spiritual gifts such as prophecy, healing, apostleship, and tongues (aka sign gifts), many Christians point to the book of Acts for proof that those gifts should still exist today. But what was the purpose of these gifts in the time of Acts? Further, why was the time of Acts a special time in the history of God’s people? (hint: what prophecies in the OT and what promise of Jesus was being fulfilled?)
