There’s an unspoken rule that men are supposed to pay for the first date, and possibly beyond, but why not women?



There are people hold a traditional view that men should be the pursuer at the beginning of a relationship. Therefore it is often perceived that a man should pay for the dates since they are trying to win the woman. Yet, cultural traditions are changing. Today some woman are the pursuers in relationships. Therefore, should women pay for dates as they pursue a man? What does it say about a woman if she never offers to pay?



There are men who enjoy paying for the first dates. It is a heart felt gesture to show the woman he values her.



Though we live in a time where dating roles are evolving, many men enjoy being chivalrous. They do so as a way of showing how they value women.
