Listen "Honoring Your Voice with Your Health"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome to the first episode in our 2-part series focusing on Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are both excited and honored to have the opportunity to share 2 interviews with you in this series.
Today, we had the privilege of interviewing Tina Rolfs. Tina is a breast cancer survivor who tells her story of hope and growth through her unexpected diagnosis of cancer. She is a wealth of knowledge about the body and its ability to heal. Tina shares openly about her challenges and triumphs through this process. She also shares about God’s love and hope which prevailed in and through her life!
We learned many interesting facts from Tina and we share them with you! Did you know:
—12.5% of all cancer diagnoses in the world are breast cancer?
—about 85% of women that get breast cancer have no genetic origin?
—1 in 8 will experience invasive cancer in their life?
If any of these facts bring fear to your heart or mind, take courage, Dear Listeners, today’s message is a message of HOPE!
Through Tina’s story we learned 3 helpful and practical tips for cancer prevention and overall well-being:
Keep your blood sugar in check.
Sleep! Establish an effective sleep routine. (This is sure to be a future episode!)
Keep stress in check. Schedule in breaks in your day to breathe, stretch, reflect, destress.
We hope you enjoy today’s interview and tune in next week to hear Michele Tupen’s story as we continue our series on Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
