Listen "Every Moment Matters: Interview with Jen Avellaneda"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome to Episode #11. Today, we are thrilled to be interviewing Jen Avellaneda. As an advocate for the orphan, Jen has traveled internationally, speaks passionately, and advocates unapologetically for the most broken in society.
Married 30 years, she and her husband currently have 8 children & have been foster parents for nearly 18 years.
Jen is an author of, “Faith Rising: A 14-Day Challenge to Greater Faith” and the “5 Minute Feelings Journal for Kids & Teens”. Her blog, “Rich Faith Rising” was started in 2011. Jen has also written for “Missional Women”, “{In}Courage”, and “Charisma Magazine”.
Today, we hear Jen’s heart for being authentic and present with her children. We were inspired by hearing Jen tell about her purposeful connection with each of her children each and every day. They do not have Pinterest style breakfasts, instead they make connection their number 1 priority.
You will be inspired hearing the simplicity of Jen’s message: Moment by moment dependency on God and making connection and respect a priority in parenting.
You’ll want to remember these quotes from today, “Habits are formed out of immediate desperation.” And, “Own every moment that God gives you.”
