Listen "#268 - You're cooked"
Episode Synopsis
I Podcast from my shower and you do you! 🚿----Today’s episode is about something we all live with but rarely picture clearly — responsibilities piling up.I want you to imagine your week as a pot on a stove. At first it’s empty and cool. Then tasks start going in: small things, errands, obligations. A little heat, no problem. But if you keep adding and stop paying attention, that pot starts boiling over — and eventually it explodes. We often think the only way to feel at peace is to keep our to-do list empty. But that’s not true. The real skill is learning how much heat and how many “ingredients” your pot can handle before it spills over. Some people can juggle 20 things because they’ve learned to watch the boil; others need to start with less. Both are fine — the key is awareness and active management, not chasing a perfectly empty list.In this episode, I break down why ignoring chores until the last minute backfires, how your brain actually tracks unfinished tasks (research shows the Zeigarnik effect keeps them buzzing in the background), and why it’s okay — even healthy — to have some pressure, as long as you’re controlling it.If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by life admin, procrastinated until everything “explodes,” or wondered how some people stay calm under massive to-do lists, this one is for you.💭 Drop a comment: what’s one thing in your pot right now you’ve been ignoring?
