Listen "An Outside Look"
Episode Synopsis
This week Dan and Ryan are joined by Dr. Tina Saitone, Cooroperative Extension Specialist in Agricultural and Resource Economics, to discuss the fall out from the MSR bankruptcy that is currently rocking the industry. 2020 has been a disrupter for the US Sheep industry and the bankruptcy of one of the largest packers has been a large part of this disruption. This episode is not one of sadness and blaming, it is instead an attempt to understand the implications of what has happened. Dr Saitone offers a valuable, outside the industry, perspective based on her experience working in other agricultural commodities. The world is not ending, it is changing and if we are to successfully change with it, we need to understand our situation to make informed decisions forward vs. reacting emotionally, potentially causing more collateral damage.
