A – About: This passage warns against half-hearted repentance. King Zedekiah and the people freed their Hebrew slaves, only to enslave them again, breaking covenant with God. The Lord responds with judgment for their hypocrisy and disobedience. B – Best Verse: Jeremiah 34:17 – "Therefore thus says the Lord: 'You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, everyone to his brother and everyone to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,' says the Lord, 'to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine!'" C – Call to Action: We are called to genuine repentance, not empty promises. God sees the heart and will not be mocked. We must confess, turn from sin, and pursue lives of holiness through Christ's righteousness.
