The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE especially those suffering from mental illness to know that you are not alone and those who know someone with a mental disorder. Let's support them and be there for them!
Our guest for today is Colleen Moore who freelances in digital media. Colleen was diagnosed with schizophrenia when she was 16 year old. She has come forward to tell us all about her illness so we can start a conversation and get knowledgeable about it.
Key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:
1. Let’s start openly talking about the realm of mental illness, so the future generations are not discriminated against.
2. If you know someone who is suffering from mental disorder, then listen to them, hear what they are trying to tell you and be there for them. If you think they are going to harm themselves or others then get professional help.
3. Don’t let anybody write your story. You can make your life whatever you want it to be!
I will bring you the next episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.
