The arkaan (pillars) of salaah are like the pillars and foundations of a house. Without them, the house would collapse. Similarly, without the pillars of salaah, it is null and void.
Explanation of the fourteen pillars.
1. To stand for the salaah (within a person's capacity).
2. Takbeeratul Ihraam (the first takbeerah).
