As we begin 2023, we begin in the Gospels. The Book of Mark presents an abbreviated telling of the life, teaching, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. A dear friend and companion of Peter, John Mark records this gospel to encourage Christians undergoing a great deal of persecution in Rome. The beginning of the book highlights his purpose, to declare that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God! This is GOOD NEWS to all who hear. The Gospel is the best news and it must be declared!
