Listen "Episode #209: Jerry Youngblutt - Boyden & Youngblutt"
Episode Synopsis
Jerry Youngblutt is a Buckeye by birth but has spent the last 42 years in Indiana. He married his high school sweetheart, Jodi, and they have two children. One in the agency business with Jerry and one as a business partner in another venture.
Jerry's first post-college job was with Disney World as an artist in WED Design(Walter Elias Disney). WED was formed of 23 artists across the U.S. with the sole purpose of getting Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland ready to open.
Jerry eventually returned to Indiana. Received an I.U. business degree from IPFW. His first agency position came after graduating with his business degree, when he went to work for HPN Advertising as a strategic account executive. Here, Jerry worked with Lutheran Hospital, DeKalb Memorial Hospital, and Lincoln National Corporation. HPN went through significant change during this time as several senior people left the agency. During this time, Andy Boyden, a college pal from Jerry's first degree experience in graphic design, suggested they start their own agency.
Within 6 months, Boyden & Youngblutt was open and ready for business. The foundation of the agency was return on investment. It still is 35+ years later.
