Since at least the Roman Empire, politicians and leaders have promised their people anything they want to hear. Food, roads, entertainment, you name it. It's a tactic that has been used to cover up mistakes, foolishness, or undesirable plans. And we here at SEF asked ourselves, are our presidential elections just bread and circus politics, the same kind used by emperors of antiquity?
