Episode Synopsis


Directed by R.T. Thorne, 40 ACRES is set in a world when the food supply is limited and land is our greatest commodity. And, with cannibals moving from farm to farm, Hailey (Danielle Deadwyler) is determined to keep her family--and land--safe from intruders. However, when her son, Manny (Katie O'Connor) risks their safety by allowing a young woman on their property, Hailey is set on high alert, fearing the oncoming hoard. In this 1on1, we speak to Thorne about examining history through the lens of genre and the perils of mothers and sons.
